Hey Palle.
Still love your work with this site – just got back to it, after being to busy for a while. Is there anyway to download these podcasts to my phone (a Windows phone)? Cause they would be great for the morning trip in the train, some of them I would actually like to listen to a couple of times, to imprint some of the good advice you’re giving.
Amazing Top 3. I’m 21 years old and been wanting to make a comic book or graphic novel for the longest time now. I’m also encountering the same mistakes. #3 not completely. I know people that want to do comic books but don’t see eye-to-eye. Also, in my country (Puerto Rico) the comic book business is booming and the’re a lot of amazing artists that are printing their work and experiencing a good crowd. Nevertheless, is a little though. However, I found you through YouTube and saw that I finally found the help that I’ve always needed. I’m more motivated, more creative and aware of what my goals are going to be. I really THANK YOU. Maybe after I’m done I can finally talk to those other comic book writers I mentioned earlier.
Cely, I greatly appreciate your comment. And awesome that I’m able to reach people in Puerto Rico, go internet!
Like I say in the bonus vid, the Wonders of the Internet, you’re really lucky to be coming up in a time where information is so attainable. I’ve had peers support and guide me through my entire carreer and now I can BE that to someone else. It’s an honor and a privilige.
Thanks again, Cely, comments like this wake me up better than coffee (7am here as I’m typing this, in bed on my iPhone)!
Amazing, that made my day. I’m flattered. It is an honor for me to be guided by someone who really understands and successfully shares the truth about this type of art. I congratulate you.
So, now I got 2 ideas of what I’m fully committed to write, I have these images in my head that are soon to be drawn and a lot of learning ahead. Now I have more support that I ever imagined from family, friends and peers.
I’ll be in touch. Who knows if I’m going to be the first puerto rican girl to publish a comic book or graphic novel worldwide. Although, I’m not counting on being a big shot. I want to be happy with what I create.
I’ll keep in touch! My motto is: “You can’t learn from success”.
Thanks again!
Hi Palle – thanks for all your very practical and encouraging advice. Especially finding the self-promotion advice (which I am not so good at) useful. You have to get in the water! HOW TRUE.
All the best
Debbie
Hi Palle,
I am very excited about your site and guidance and started today with the podcasts and the 7 days course.
I am starting from zero, no drawing skills- trying to learn from internet, no writing skills- but trying to learn. I am also older(34) but i love comics and if there is anything i want to get involved with is comics . I am not going to quit my day job for now.
Thanks for your efforts
